Hello, everyone! 

I know this article is posted kind of late, but while I was researching for extemporaneous articles for my speech club, I came upon this article. 

For debate, I wanted to know more about what was going on in the world (just to make my cases stronger and possibly even win a round...)  so I joined my group's extemp* club. Biiiiiig mistake! I took on the challenge of being in charge of finding and printing articles on the EU as well as New Zealand and Australia (I just had to get NZ and Australia just in case anything camp up on the Hobbit)  and finally found something that was not depressing (if you pay attention to the news at all, you'll find that most of the it is depressing, not encouraging and it just makes you wonder at the human race) and actually made me laugh (no offense to the Queen intended). 

Anyway, extemp is very time-consuming, depressing and I don't think I'll ever do it again. 

*Extemp (according to NCFCA) is a speech category in which you can either do it by yourself or you can do it with a club. You have six months to gather articles and information about what is going on in the world; all over the world. Then, when you're ready to give your speech, you draw a card with three questions. You choose one of those three to answer and you have half an hour to scramble for articles in the file-boxes pertaining to your question, write three points on an index card as well as an introduction and conclusion, and have an answer.
